Halton Reach Out Project The aim of the project is to provide outreach activity delivered from locations within deprived communities in Halton, for example community centres, children centres, homeless hostels etc.
Two outreach workers (Fixers) have been recruited and will be engaging with unemployed people claiming incapacity benefit especially those with children, lone parents, Black & Racial Minority Groups, refugees, homeless, ex offenders, those with drug and alcohol misuse and those who persistently return to claim JSA. Support will be provided through an individual action plan. The outreach workers will signpost participants to training, identifying specialist support through to employment and providing a 26wk aftercare in order to ensure that the employment is sustainable.
The outreach workers main activities will be mentoring and support. They will provide opportunities for participants to engage in community based activities and volunteer activities.

TSP was contracted to work in partnership with the YMCA with the project starting 28th July 2008.
